Call of Duty Cold War - Quick Overview

Call of Duty Cold War is a first-person shooter video game, initially referred to as Black Ops 5, that was released on November, 13th 2020. There are 3 types of editions available. Standard one is priced at $60, a cross-gen bundle costs $70, and the Ultimate edition that can be purchased for $90. The game was developed by Treyarch in collaboration with Raven Software and published by Activision.

Fans were very curious to find out about a Cold War Battle Royal mode. To everyone’s surprise, the shooter didn’t have one when at launch, and it’s not going to offer its own BR Mode one at all. However, Warzone will complete the Cold War experience and will be integrated with it after the release. The progression and upcoming content will be shared between the two. As you can assumer, the Cold War comes with lots of new content, maps and, of course, gaming modes:

Fireteam: Dirty Bomb is a multiplayer mode with forty players divided into 10 teams battling on the biggest maps. The mode’s title is related to the main activity where participants are engaged in killing the opponents and detonating bombs.

Another addition is VIP Escort mode allowing for up to 6 players in one team. The main goal is to escort a VIP from one spot to another with no harm done to them. You win if the opponent team is eliminated or VIP safely reaches the destination.

2v2 Gunfight mode that has become super popular in Modern Warfare is coming shortly after the CW release.

Combined Arms: Assault is very similar to the Hardpoint mode, but is larger as it allows two teams of 12 to participate.

Combined Arms: Domination is a scaled version of the classic Domination mode also featuring 12v12.

Team Deathmatch will come in a form of games limited to 10 minutes.

Domination looks like an easier version of the Combined Arts with two teams of six.

Hardpoint is another 6v6 Domination-like mode.

Black Ops Cold War is available across every platform, the newest Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X platforms along with PS4, Xbox S and PC. But the most important thing is that it is the first shooter that will have a cross-platform and cross-generation multiplayer experience, which means PC gamers can play together with PS4, Xbox Series X etc simultaneously.
